Ninjatrader will not start ?

    Ninjatrader will not start ?

    I am double clicking the NT8 icon and it will not open up ?

    There was a message that ONE Drive has downloaded some NT8 files when restarting and then it will not open up.

    I have tried deleting and reinstalling but it did not change anything?

    Windows 10 has recently updated to the new Spring version. Any issues here?

    Could you please send the log and trace from your platform to look further into this inquiry.

    Please send an email to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com with your log and trace files included as an attachment to the email, so I may investigate this matter further.


    • Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
    • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
    • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.



    Put 'Att Shawn', in the subject field and enable 'Log and trace files'. Also, give a reference of this thread in the body of the email.

      HI Shawn

      I have tried this and I get an error to say these files are online only, and when I try to make them available it is asking that I make file synch isnt paused ?

      Double click NT8 icon and nothing happens? working fine before the message?

      I can see the log and trace files but they won't zip up

        Thanks for your reply.

        Please try and disable OneDrive and then reinstall NinjaTrader using the steps beow.

        I would recommend making a backup or copy of your Documents > NinjaTrader 8 folder on your desktop to avoid losing any saved data.

        To disable OneDrive.
        1. Right-click on OneDrive icon in Taskbar notification area and select Settings option.
        2. It'll open OneDrive Settings window. Now go to "Settings" tab and uncheck "Start OneDrive automatically when I sign in to Windows" option.
        3. Click on OK button and restart your computer.
        Now OneDrive will never automatically start in your Windows 10 computer.


        Then, please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader, you will not lose any settings or data with these steps:

        1. Close all running applications.
        2. Make sure NinjaTrader is closed from the Windows Task Manager:
          Press CTRL + ALT + DEL on your keyboard > Start Task Manager...
          Processes tab
          Locate and highlight "NinjaTrader.exe" > Click "End Process"
        3. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
        4. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 8 and click Remove.
        5. Once these steps are completed, download NT8 from the link below:



        You may download the platform here. You will need to enter your email and then click the download button.

          Thank you for your help.

          I have tried all the steps you recommended and am afraid the problem still exists.

          re-installed and one drive is disabled and not showing on task bar.

          when I click on documents/Ninjatrader8/properties I am seeing the location as c/Users/xxx/oneDrive/documents

          seems one drive has screwed up my documents Ninjatrader 8 directory.

          DON'T USE ONE DRIVE !!!

            Thanks for your reply.

            You could try and exclude the Documents folder from syncing with OneDrive if files are still syncing.

              I'm having the same problem.
              I've uninstlled NT8 and reinstalled.

              I double click Ninja Trader 8 but nothing starts.
              Can you please help me?

              Everything started when One Drive started its activation.
              now One drive is disabled but NT8 is still not functioning.

                Include ticket number 2057397 in the body of the email.

                Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
