Red X

I'm trying to open a chart and all I see is a red X. When I drag the chart or resize it, I see the chart bars like normal, but as soon as I release the mouse, it goes back to the Red X. I've tried connecting to different connections (including Kinetick), different instruments (stocks and futures) and reloading all historical data.

Closing the chart and opening a new chart fixed the problem.

Could you please test a chart loading in Safe Mode to see if the red X still occurs?

To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:

Exit NinjaTrader.
Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.


Based on the result of this test, if this works or not please let me know and we can continue to look into this. Additionally it may be helpful to send your log and trace files into our support email, please do not post them on the forum. If you do please paste a link to this post in the body of the message. You can email me at platformsupport [at] ninjatrader.com.

Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.

Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

I tried starting in safe mode and not in safe mode and I can't replicate the Red X chart. If it happens again I'll return to this post and perform these steps.

Does starting in safe mode remove all the drawings on the chart and reset the workspace? After pulling up a chart I noticed that I lost all my analysis notes I made on the chart after the red X problem.

Thank you for your post.

Safe Mode should not remove anything from the workspace, rather it should just simply prevent the workspace from opening on start up of the application in safe mode.
