    NR4 or NR7 Inside Bars

Is there an indicator for indicating a Narrower range bar than the last 4 or Narrower than the last 7. And an inside bar or outside bar notation or painted bar with it? I have seen a few for ninjatrader 7, but nothing for Ninjatrader 8.

        Hi Alan,

Is it possible to tweak your NR4 or NR7 indicator so it paints the bar rather than puts the signals in a separate panel (i.e., similar to your other inside bar indicator). THANKS.

            Thank you Alan. Much appreciated.

Is the yellow colour the NR7? ... as both colours remain even if I ONLY select the NR7. Same for the NR4.

              Hello steve257,

Thank you for pointing that out, the bools were not working.

Here is the revised indicator, two versions 1 with and 1 without plots.

                  Hey Allen.

I'm a fan of Toby Crabel, so I will find this indicator very helpful with my trading.

Would it be possible though to do a couple of additional modifications?

First could the lower panel be removed completely? Leaving only the painted NR4/NR7 bars?

Second could the option be given with the bars for user defined colors?

                  Thanks,

                  Jason

                      Thanks Alan.

Everything is perfect on the daily time-frame however somethings amiss with 60 min time-frame. I can't get any nr4 bars and the nr7's are painting as a group of bars.

I attached a couple of images, one with a chart and the other with settings. which I tinkered with but couldn't fix things.

Thanks again for your help and glad you also like Toby Crabel. He was/is a genius, no doubt about it.

                        Hello jasonw,

If I recall correctly his ORB and NR7 studies were applied to daily time frame, which is why I have a secondary daily series. Those pink bars would be pink because that day would have been a NR7/NR4 day.

If you wanted the script to not use daily series you would have to modify the scripts references to the secondary series, which would be swapping out Closes for Close, and BarsArray[1] for BarsArray[0], see closes,

Yes, that's correct, ORB used the daily time-frame, however, I believe that it can also be useful on alternate time-frames, such as the 60 minute.

Anyway, I opened the indicator in ninjascript and changed all references from BarsArray[1] to BarsArray[0]
but I didn't see the word "closes" anywhere. So no changes there.

I tried using the indicator afterwards but it's still painting hourly bars as a group.

For what it's worth, the previous version of your ORB breakout indicator worked fine on both daily and hourly timeframes.

I guess this newest one is made from the ground up and using different code?

                          Thanks, Jason

                            Hello Jason,

I removed the secondary daily series and attached the modified indicator.
