Mouse wheel for zooming Ninjatrader 8

Hi there

I've recently started using NT 8. One thing I have noticed that frustrates me is the lack of zooming in and out using the mouse wheel. This is something I really need. I dont want to have to use keyboard or click on a icon then zoom in and out. I want to be able to zoom in and out and have the chart auto scale to fit the candlesticks.

Other platforms do it so I am really surprised NT doesnt have this feature, I am sure a lot more traders would use the NT if you had this functionality.

I have noticed someone online selling this as an add in for $75!

Is there anybody in the community that can provide an AUTOHOTKEY workaround?

I did something similar for Tradestation using the following script:

wheelup::send, {up}
wheeldown::send, {down}

}

It's been nearly three years since this post. I was wondering if there are any updates or plans to incorporate this functionality?


To echo the original poster, this is a highly popular feature in most modern trading platforms and can significantly speed up chart navigation for the user. It could also be a feature that is turned on/off in the settings. I have considered developing an add-on for the feature but really don't want to spend my time doing that if already in work by NT developers.


If there is a reason why it is not being incorporated, I would appreciate hearing that feedback as well.
