    WAV file assistance needed

    Hi guys,

I have bought a really cool 3rd party indicator that works really well. It has a spot on the indicator for a wav file, so I can make an audio alert, however I don't know how to add the wav file to the indicator.

    Can anyone help?

          Hello,
I would try putting the file path in that box. If that does not work you will need to contact the vendor.
If you have any further questions please let me know.

The file path is where that file is located on your computer. So you can right-click on your audio file, select Properties, and right next to "Location" will be the file path.
Just copy and paste that into the box.

As a first step, try putting the file in the NT sounds folder: by default, C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\sounds.

ok, i have now done that, I actually had to create a sounds folder as it looks like there is none.

Then there is something wrong. The sounds folder is always created by NinjaTrader. That is where NT puts all the sounds that ship with the program.

Are you sure that you installed NT to the default location? It seems to me that you may have installed it somewhere else (like I always do). You will have to remember where you installed NT, and place the file in the sounds directory there.

In order to be able to select the file without reference to its path, the file MUST be in the default sounds directory.

I also found that strange, first time I did n't see the sounds folder....must be somewhere...because NT still creating normal audio alerts with ATM

In what parent directory did you look for the sounds folder?

In the end it did not matter, looks like this indicator is designed without a way to add an audio alert.
