Hello GibbsB613,
It is possible to add an SMA to a chart using a different input series.
Below is a link to demonstrate this for NT7. The process for NT8 is the same.
Download NinjaTrader FREE at http://www.ninjatrader.comThis video demonstrates how to plot an indicator based off of one data series, overlay it onto another...
To confirm, as your post is in the indicator developement section, you are wanting to plot these values using a custom indicator with an added dataseries, is this correct?
This is possible to do.
To add a secondary series use AddDataSeries().
Add a plot using AddPlot().
Call the moving average indicator using Closes[1] (BarsInProgress 1 is the secondary series) as the input series.
Closes - http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...-us/closes.htm
BarsInProgress - http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...inprogress.htm
SMA - http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...simple_sma.htm
Set the Value of the plot to the value returned by the SMA using the secondary series.
