The Russell 2000 returns to CME Group

The Russell 2000 returns to CME Group July 10th, 2017. It will continue to also be available on the ICE exchange until June 15th, 2018.
The Russell 2000 will be available in NinjaTrader as the RTY.
Follow the instructions below to add the RTY into the NinjaTrader database.

NinjaTrader 8

• Restart NinjaTrader prior to July 9th to automatically receive the RTY database updates from the NinjaTrader server

NinjaTrader 7

• Complete either the ‘Upgrade and reset instruments’ or ‘Manually create the instrument’ process below

Upgrade and reset instruments

• If you are on NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.34 or older, upgrade NinjaTrader
• You can check your version by going to Help > About
• To upgrade, first get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key
• Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
• Enter your license key and press Submit
• Select 'NinjaTrader 7'
• Select 'Download'
• Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed
• Once upgraded, start NinjaTrader and go to Tools> Options> Data> Reset Instruments then restart NinjaTrader

Manually create the instrument (You do NOT need to complete these steps if you completed the "Upgrade and reset instruments" steps)

• Go to Tools> Instrument Manager> New
• Enter the parameters under ‘Definition’ as shown in the screenshot below
• Under ‘Misc’ enter the ‘Symbol Map’ for your data provider

For Kinetick and IQFeed the symbol mapping is missing the @ symbol in front of the symbol mapping.

To resolve this in NinjaTrader 7, follow the steps below.
Go to Tools> Instrument Manager
Under Available Master Instruments select the RTY and press Edit
Select the Misc tab
Under Symbol Mapping for Kinetick and IQFeed set the mapping to: @RTY

To resolve this in NinjaTrader 8, restart to pull the update.
