NT8 not loading new charts

Hi

- connection is working fine
- if I try to load a chart of the usual instruments I have no issues, even on different delivery dates

but if I try to load a new instrument (contract) like for example:

FXCM 03-18 or ZR 03-18 ..... I just get Loading... but nothing happens. I've tried to load daily or shorter time frames ...and different number of period (365 days or just 50 days).

am I doing something wrong? I would rather not to have to shut down and restart all, since I have running few strategies live and every time it's quite a process to put all in order (correctly).

Who are you connecting to for data? (This is shown with a green dot in the Connections menu of the Control Center)

What is the version of NinjaTrader 8 you are using? (Help -> About.. e.g. 8.0.X.X)

I'm not familiar with the FXCM 03-18 future.. Do you have link to the contract specifications for this instrument? (Is this on the CME?)

my version is 8.0.10.0.64 bit

FDXM is the mini future of DAX...but I had the same issues with others. Now I can see that 1 of those is actually shown (ZO contract). it took about 45'.

Ah understand, you are trying to load the FDXM future.

You will need to modify the symbol mapping to use this instrument and disable the FDAX.

Tools -> Instruments -> search FDXM and select it -> click edit

Change the symbol mapping for Interactive Brokers from:
DAX-disabled|||5

To:
DAX|||5

Click OK

Search and select FDAX -> click edit

Change the symbol mapping for Interactive Brokers from:
DAX|||25

To:
DAX-disabled|||25

You will also need to make sure that you are getting real-time data subscription for the DAX instrument in TWS. (NinjaTrader cannot load instruments that have delayed data)

Are you getting real-time data for ZR 03-18 in tws or is this delayed?
(Hover the mouse over the instrument and this will let you know if it is delayed)


Also, currently NinjaTrader is on 8.0.11.1.
Updates to NinjaTrader will contain the latest security updates and bug fixes, as well as new instruments and rollover dates.

To update your NinjaTrader platform:

• Copy your license key to a text file. You can find this under Help -> License Key
• Use the following link to get to the NinjaTrader download page: Download
• Enter your license into the Current Users field, and download NinjaTrader
• Shutdown all programs including NinjaTrader *important
• Double click the downloaded file to execute it
• Follow the on screen instructions
• Restart NinjaTrader

I did what suggested (thanks!) but

fact is that this is not a specific instrument problem, is a generic issue...I've tried also stock prices and its the same...I just get Loading... and nothing happens. (I did shut down and restarted but still no luck).
