    Rollover contract

    Hi team,

I have just rollover the 6E contract from 09-18 to 12-18 and the drawings are displaced in the new contract. Is there any solution for this? All my lines and notes seems to be out of space.

    Many thanks,

What version of NinjaTrader 7 are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X)

Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

What is your merge policy? To check, go to the Control Center > Tools > Options > Data tab > What is 'merge policy' set to?

      Thanks Patrick,

      The log shows this:
"CQG.Adapter.SubscribeMarketDataResolve: F.US.EU6M18 could not be resolved"

The version that I am using is the V.7.0.1000.38

      The merge policy is MergedBackAdjusted.

      Thanks

The line you pulled from your log indicates that a window in your workspace (maybe the Orders tab instrument drop down list) is attempting to load the 6E 06-18. You'll need to remove the window or change the instrument to an active contract to cause this message to disappear.

see that you're running an older version of NinjaTrader 7. The newer version contains many critical updates to the database. I would advise that you update and then reset the instruments as a troubleshooter.

First, to update NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:
        • First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
        • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
        • Enter your license key and press Submit
        • Select 'NinjaTrader 7'
        • Select 'Download'
        • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

Lastly, to reset your instruments, please follow the steps below:
        • Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed
        • Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK
        • Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection

There was a significant spread in price between the 09-18 and 12-18 contracts. If your merge policy is set to 'merge back adjusted', it will eliminate that gap on your charts by adjusting the historical data so that it closely matches the current month. Since the data is adjusted, your drawing objects are also adjusted

You can change your merge policy to 'merge non back adjusted' or 'Do not merge' if you do not want your drawing objects to be adjusted due to the merge policy. Make sure to right-click on your chart and select 'reload all historical data' if you make a change to your merge policy.

Thanks Patrick, so it looks like due to the spread between the contract my lines are not adjusted.

          Best regards,
