    How to enter buy order above the last price?

    Hello,

    How can I anticipate price going up by placing a buy order above the last price, and then a sell market order above the buy order?

    Many Thanks, Caesar.

    Hello Skechers,

    Thank you for the question.

    In short, to place a Buy Order above the Last traded price, it would need to be placed as a Buy Stop Market or Buy Stop Limit order.
    • A Buy Limit or Buy MIT order can only be placed below the last traded price
    A Sell Limit and Sell MIT order can only be placed above the Last traded Price.
    • You would need to use a Sell Stop Market or Sell Stop Limit order to place a Sell order below the Last traded price

    So, if you are using the Chart Trader window, when you right-click above the last traded price, select the Buy Stop Market or Buy Stop Limit order as desired.
    If you are using the SuperDOM, you could use the Middle Mouse click or Ctrl + Middle Mouse Click to place the Stop Limit or Stop Market order.
    Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      Hello Sketchers,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

      If you need to place a Buy order above the market, you must use a Buy Stop Market or Buy Stop Limit order. To place a Sell order above your Buy order, you'd want to use either a Sell Limit or Sell MIT order. The specific way that you place those types of order would depend on the order entry window that you use. You can view order submission information within our Help Guide at the link below;
