IB was unable to locate instrument

Hello I have restarted IB gateway (981.3i) and NT8( 8.0.26) to day for weekend restart. But i am getting "Error on requesting bars series: 'IB was unable to locate instrument... for ES/MES/NQ/MNQ tickers error. MYM doesnt have issue, but all others datas are not updating. I had no issue on friday all insturuments was working.

I have the same problem. setup is IB TWS (981.3i) and NT8( 8.0.26).

All the globex CME ticker on NT8 not getting data from IB but data for them on TWS is fine.

same error message in the NT8 logs as well : "Error on requesting bars series: 'IB was unable to locate instrument. Please Verify your symbol mapping is correct for instrument MES 12-22 Globex"


and same message for ES, NQ, MNQ, ETH, BTC, RTY etc basically everything on CME Globex


Did IB change their symbol mapping this weekend or something ? because nothing has changed on my NT8 setup which was working fine last friday.

Yes, IB is having symbol - exchange renaming currently. A new ES symbol-exchange is supposed to start today. I am surprised that NinjaTrader has not been prepared for this change.
Here is the copy of the email that was sent a few weeks ago.

Please note that Interactive Brokers is completing an effort to update and consolidate exchange names where appropriate. When this effort is complete, the following updates will be in effect:

• GLOBEX and CMECRYPTO will be consolidated to a single exchange, ‘CME’
• ECBOT will be updated to ‘CBOT’
• COMEX listed metals (previously reflected as NYMEX) will be updated to exchange ‘COMEX’
• NYMEX, no change

Given the wide breadth of products involved, we are migrating in four waves based on underlying products:

Key	Effective Trade Date	Products
Wave 1	October 30, 2022	GLOBEX: ZAR, LB, DA, IXE
Wave 2	November 6, 2022	GLOBEX: EMD, BRE, CHF, SOFR3, E7, NKD CMECRYPTO: BTCEURRR, ETHEURRR, MET

Note: After each migration, GTC orders will be retained. These orders will show the updated exchange name but remain active.

At this time, symbols "MES" "MNQ" "MYM" are ok, but "M2K" is not ok:

"Error on requesting bars series: 'IB was unable to locate instrument. Please verify your symbol mapping is correct for instrument M2K 12-22 Globex' "

Hello,

Symbol mapping has been updated on the NT servers to support the new exchange with the latest version of TWS/Gateway. You may need to restart to have this change take effect.

Yup worked for me, went to Tools -> Database management and updated futures expiries and instrument lists.
