Synch All Strategies

How does this feature work? I have a long and short auto strategy and i'd like to make sure they don't bump into each other on the same account. please advise.

Thank you for your post.

The position for the account and the position for the strategy are separate. It is quite possible for the position of a strategy to be out of sync with the position of an account.

Using two NinjaScript Strategies that are placing orders in opposite directions would also be affected by the fact that the Strategy Position is separate from the Account Position. This means that if one strategy has taken a long position and is showing long 1, and the other has taken a short position on the same instrument and account combination and is showing short 1, the account position would be flat and neither strategy would be in sync with the account.

The most likely outcome in my testing would be that if you try to sync all strategies and have one that has calculated it would be in a long position and one that has calculated it would either be in a different long position or in a short position or flat, that the sync will fail and nothing will occur

Also, it should be noted that NinjaTrader does not support hedging.

Generally speaking we would not recommend running more than one strategy per instrument/account combination at a time, nor would we recommend manually trading on the same instrument and account combination you're also running a strategy on for the above reasons.
