NinjaTrader Account FAQs

Yes, access to NinjaTrader Web and NinjaTrader Mobile is included for all NinjaTrader Brokerage accounts. Simply log in using your account dashboard username and password.

NinjaTrader Web: To launch, log in to your NinjaTrader account & select “Trade”.

Mobile Trading Apps: Download for Android or iPhone from Google Play or Apple App Stores
No, commission rates and trade-related fees are not impacted in any way.
Prior to upgrading to the latest release of NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1), you will connect to your NinjaTrader Brokerage account via your existing Continuum / CQG username and password which will continue to use your Continuum / CQG username and password.

Once you have upgraded to NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1), you will be presented with a logon screen on start-up that utilizes your Account Dashboard username and password. Once verified, you can connect to your NinjaTrader Brokerage account via your Continuum / CQG connection, which will continue to use your Continuum / CQG username and password. If you would like to take advantage of the new server-based functionality available through NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1), you can create a new NinjaTrader connection following the steps here.

Please note that access to NinjaTrader Web and Mobile will require you to log in with your account dashboard username and password. Your Continuum/CQG username and password will not work in NinjaTrader Web or NinjaTrader Mobile.
NinjaTrader Web and Mobile are available for NinjaTrader Brokerage account holders. For traders using third-party brokerage connections, you can continue to use NinjaTrader Desktop without interruption.
No, one data subscription per account will allow you access market data across all NinjaTrader platforms & the mobile app.

NinjaTrader Licensing FAQs

Yes, to support integrated multi-device trading, all platform features (except Order Flow +) are now available for free across all NinjaTrader account plans.  To use Chart Trader and unlock additional features, you can update to the latest release of NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1). Order Flow + is included with a Lifetime account plan or can be purchased as an additional add-on for Free and Monthly account plans.

Upon install and log in, you will have access to Chart Trader and additional features across NinjaTrader Desktop and NinjaTrader Web.
You have two options to access to the new account plans through your NinjaTrader account dashboard:
  • Download and upgrade to the latest version of NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1) which will automatically migrate your legacy NinjaTrader license key and unlock access to the new account plans.
  • Manually submit your legacy NinjaTrader license key through the account dashboard to unlock access to the new account plans.
You can access the Account Plans menu through the blue personal “Settings” icon in the upper right-hand corner of your account dashboard. From here you can either update the plan for your account if you have updated to NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1) or manually import your existing license key as outlined in Option Two above.

NinjaTrader Platform FAQs

No.  All existing users can continue to use the NinjaTrader Desktop platform as they do today without any changes to their associated platform costs or fees.
No, an update to the latest release of NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1) is not required.
Simply log in using your account dashboard username and password and select “Download” in the bottom left corner of the dashboard.

If you upgrade to the latest version of NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1), a new multi-provider option is now available. This option will maintain your previous connections while increasing security for your account. Learn more.
Create a NinjaTrader user account to log in and select “Download desktop platform” to access the latest release of NinjaTrader Desktop. A brokerage account is not required to access the download, but you will need a NinjaTrader user account featuring a unique username and password.
Unless the combine or evaluation service has directly instructed you to update to NinjaTrader (v. 8.1) there is no need to update NinjaTrader Desktop as it could impact the integration of NinjaTrader to your evaluation account. For further information, we recommend you contact the evaluation service directly.
If you are currently connecting to FXCM for live trading or for a demo account, there is no change to your existing connectivity following the release of NinjaTrader Desktop (v. 8.1). For demo users, your existing data trials will auto-extend each month as they have previously.

At this time, forex data trials are no longer available for new users.
